Andy Allan
Technical Lead
Andy has been involved in OpenStreetMap since October 2006, originally mapping in south-west London. With a new-found passion for cycling around the city, Andy created the OpenStreetMap Cycle Map in 2007, and has since concentrated on customised maps, both online and on portable devices. Andy has continued to explore London, finding and trying to follow badly-signposted cycling networks through parkland, along riverbanks and down city streets.
Before joining CloudMade in March 2008 Andy worked as an IT Support Manager at Imperial College London, responsible for a team of engineers providing IT services to a large group of world-leading academics and students. Before developing a career in IT, Andy has also previously worked backstage in theatres large and small around London, turning his hand to rigging and lighting design, and graduated from Imperial with a Masters in Chemistry.
When not OpenStreetMapping Andy spends time mountain biking, and recovering from the inevitable injuries.
