Shaun McDonald joined CloudMade in April 2008, a year after joining the OpenStreetMap project and working on it in his free time. Shaun is originally from Edinburgh, and was the first to organise a Mapping party in Scotland. Shaun has done some long distance mapping on the bike. Planet OSM and aggregation of blogs about OpenStreetMap is maintained by Shaun.
Shaun graduated from Heriot-Watt University in July 2007 with a degree in Computer Science. During his studies there, Shaun developed an interest in a variety of open source projects, including OpenOffice.org, where he has gained experience in most of the development cycle.
